What does a school council do?
– A school council is a formal group of pupils who act as representatives of their classmates in discussing school issues with the headteacher and staff.
– Students are elected to represent the views of all pupils and to improve their school
– They help to make decisions about how the school is run and take on projects that support the children’s learning and development, such as organising charity events, representing the school at outside events or ensuring the school is environmentally friendly. School councils are usually elected annually by the other children.
We acknowledged World Smile Day by making the day non-uniform day. Smile is sunnah (the way of the prophet) in Islam and its also a form of charity. We want our children to spread smiles and happiness wherever they go. We have raised money on the day. Thank you to everyone who took part. Since this day the children have made an effort to encourage and remind each other to smile more often both in school and at home.
Voting Day At Evergreen Primary School On Tuesday 3rd October 2024, the children at Evergreen Primary had the opportunity to cast their vote and had a say in who should be representing them in the school council.
They experienced what democracy looks like when you have the right to vote and make your own decision about what you believe in.
