We are Going on a Bear Hunt is full of repetitive phrases and the children have really enjoyed re-reading, retelling and acting out the scenes.
Children have taken part in activities linked to the text this week which included travelling around an obstacle course whilst acting out the story, making bear masks, discovering bear footprints in our classroom and learning about the different types of bears around the world.
The children made their own bears out of play dough
The children acted out the story using props.
The children enjoyed making the different scenes from the story using different art materials.
Reception children helped each other by sequencing the story in order.
We discovered bear footprints in our classroom and our tree was knocked down!
We went outside to search for hidden bears in the playground.
Reception children have been working really hard and have written their own version of their own story called We’re going on a Tiger Hunt!
The children brought in their own teddy bears from home and we had a fantastic teddy bears picnic outside in the playground.
We all decided that we wanted to be like bears and taste some porridge. So we got our ingredients, measured them and made some yummy porridge. We ate it all up!
The children all made their own scary bear masks.
