A Safer Online World!
Tuesday 6th February 2024
Safer Internet Day aims to inspire a national conversation about using technology responsibly, respectfully, critically and creatively. Coordinated in the UK by the UK Safer Internet Centre the celebration sees 180 countries and hundreds of organisations get involved to help promote the safe, responsible and positive use of digital technology for children and young people. Safer Internet Day 2024 was celebrated globally ‘Inspiring change? Making a difference, managing influence and navigating change online’.
Children designed their own internet safety posters to put around the school to remind others on how to stay safe online.
In Y3/4 The children learned about the invention of the internet by Tim Burners Lee. We learned that internet is a global wireless connection between billions of smart devices. We used wool to understand that by connecting the wool among different pegs representing different computers/ devices. We wrote an explanation text about Internet safety. Then we created posters about online safety.
